I love to build models and I am a member of a bunch of model building groups on Facebook. It’s a great hobby, usually very relaxing, but there are times were trying to get those tiny little pieces to fit together can be more than a little maddening. That is what inspired this graphic.
Just for fun, I hear a lot of my modeler friends talking about rat rods. They look like rust buckets with killer motors. They’re all go and very little show and they are cool. For some reason that led to Bat Rod. Did a web search and found there is a model kit of the same name tied to the Batman franchise. This piece has nothing to do with that. Just a fun drawing of a fun subject. The bat is green as a nod to Ed Roth’s Rat Fink, the father of all car art creatures.
This one got pulled off Zazzle.com I believe it is because they feared copyright infringement with the band Motorhead. Motor Heads have long pre-existed the band. I did this design for fun anyway. Not too worried about not selling it.
My creative arts speaking ministry AMOKArts is a real passion of mine. I love using art to spread the Gospel and encourage people to use their gifts to serve others and make a difference in our world. One of my dreams for this ministry is to do a coast to coast tour. That is what this piece is all about. If you know a church that would like to host me, please contact me at AMOKArts@aol.com
I know it’s been a long time since I posted here, but I am back. I’ve spend the last year really working on my speaking, some new art books and a whole bunch of other things. I’m changing the focus of the page slightly. While I will still be posting cartoons and memes and some faith-based stuff, I am also going to be posting some of the comic/pop art I am currently really into creating. You see from my earliest memories, I have loved building models and making art. As a child, my grandmother used to take me to an auction/flea market and she would always take me to the hobby shop and buy me models. I really loved the art on the race cars. There was also a t-shirt shop in the same area and they always had these amazing Ed Roth/George Barris inspired designs with the huge engines and the monster drivers grabbing the shifter right through the roof of the car. I loved that stuff and I still do.
I’ve started creating my own. Over the next few days You will see some of that stuff here. I’m having a blast creating it. An I hope you enjoy it. So welcome or welcome back. Let’s have some fun!
