So I was getting my car services the other day and they had some Sirius Radio 80s station on as I was sketching. This song came on, I think it was from Flashdance, and I heard this line that said “Take your passion and make it happen.” I thought, “Creacher has got to say something about this truth.” I know so many people who have a dream or a vision and are waiting for the magical dream fairy to drop it in their laps or they wrap it in faith and say God hasn’t delivered yet. Let me just make it clear, there may be a lot of steps between you and your dream, but the first step toward that dream is always to take a step. The secret to Success is found at the junction of positive passion and positive action. What are you doing to make your dreams come true?
I was reading Michael Hyatt’s great book Platform(have I mentioned every creative needs to read this book?) and I happened upon this quote, “Perfectionism is the mother of procrastination.” This is amazingly true. If you don’t believe me, how many projects have you created that will never see the light of day? How many things have you made that just aren’t perfect enough in your mind? You do realize that art is a gift that is pretty meaningless unless we give it, right? Work on it give it your best and then in the words of Seth Godin and Steve Jobs, “ship it!” Remember “Real artists ship”
Your best work released imperfect is forgivable, after all no one is perfect. What is nearly unforgivable is depriving the world of a priceless gift. Give up the paralysis of analysis, forget your fear and present your gift. It will touch the hearts it’s supposed to touch and to the critics, they’re too busy cutting your gift apart to give their own and you don’t really have time for that do you?
A Dream is just reality waiting for its time but hear this and hear it well, it will stay a dream unless you will faithfully do what it takes, even if that doesn’t always seem to make sense.

Always remember the lesser of two evils is still evil!
Did you ever notice that the hand sign for peace and victory are the same thing, two fingers in “V” formation? I think there’s a reason for that. The only way for a person to have true peace is for the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ to have victory in their lives. “Peace that passes understanding,” remember?
The Illustration Friday.com challenge this week was SECRET and my mind drifted to the old Newsboys song (Thanks for the edit Rob Tyson) “God Is Not A Secret.” I know that we still enjoy a lot of freedom of religion here in the states, I also know a lot of people would like us to shut up and keep our faith to ourselves. Some of that is our fault, when we speak the truth and withhold the love but God is a big part of my life. To be silent about Him is to deny part of myself.
And besides, God loves you, that should not be a secret.
Usually this strip is a single panel or two at the most, but the joy of a web comic is you can do what you want and as such, from time to time there is an idea, a story that takes a few more frames to develop. This is one of those times. I was talking to a ministry colleague on tolerance and he said, “people just expect you to accept them however they are, no matter what they happen to want to do or whatever condition they happen to be in. It was at that point that my weird brain had a weird idea. What if they happen to be on fire? Should we still accept that as just their condition? Accept them as they are? I think not. Of course it’s absurd, but think about it…
Are you a new Creature? “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 To find out more about being a new creature in Christ, Go to the Are You a New Creature Page above.
It’s pretty simple really. Would you want some other guy to treat your daughter the way you are about to treat some other guy’s daughter? And while we’re on the subject how much differently would we treat women if we saw them as God’s daughters, because that’s who they are…daughters of the King!
There’s got to be more to life than the accumulation of stuff. There’s got to be more to life than keeping up with the Joneses. There’s got to be more to life than working yourself into an early grave. Good news! There is…
Matthew 6:19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
What do you treasure?
This seems to be a recurring them in my life lately. It keeps coming up in prayer, in my writing and now I am seeing other people post it. Time for a cartoon. What God leads you to, He’ll lead you through.
If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. Yes I know it’s an old saying, but I think it bears repeating. If you don’t know your moral center and what it is that you stand for, you will be able to be dragged into a whole bunch of directions, even possibly some pretty bad ones. So what do you stand for. I have decided to stand for Jesus and stand on God’s Word.
Sometimes as I listen to people within the church debate the issues of the day, it seems there is some “Genesis 3 Theology” going on. “Did God really meant what He said?” For the record, the answer to that question is “YES.” Sometimes it feels like we want to change what the Bible says to accommodate our own agendas as well as society’s agenda. Here’s the truth. We are not supposed to change the Bible, the Bible is supposed to change us.
