Ask yourself this question: How many of the problems you’ve ever faced in your life were caused by impulsive decisions and impulsive actions? As a pastor, most of the struggles I end up helping people with are the result of impulsive choices. I used to semi-jokingly say, “If you are going to want my help with the consequences of your actions, please see me before you do them.”
What would happen if before you acted, you took a few sections to think through the consequences of your actions?
